Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones. ~Proverbs 16:24~
Thoughts:
My relationship with both of my parents is quite different. My daddy treats me like an adult. He gives guidance, opinions, and advice without fussing and criticizing. On the other hand, my mother is the opposite. She treats me like I am a child and that I don’t know anything. She feels like she has to tell me what to do and how to do it. And she is the kind of person that if you don’t do something the way she does it, it is wrong. Her way is the best way is how she thinks. Her ways and words don’t draw me to her. I would have thought that by her 60’s, she should know that honey draws bees. In other words, she should know that being sweet will bring her daughter close. By being sweet, I would listen to her and not reject what she has to say. She just doesn’t get it even when I verbally tell her how I feel. She will still act the same. I am at the point that all I can do is PRAY.
Poem:
Mother, Mother
Parent of mine
I love you so
Mother, Mother
Your negativity, complaining
and fussing ways have got to go
Mother, Mother
Please seek God’s wisdom
and guiding light
Mother, Mother
Please look to God for
happiness, sweetness and delight
Mother, Mother
We need to get closer so
let pleasant words make us tight
Prayer:
Dear God Almighty Father and Lord Jesus Christ, please help me and my mother to have a harmonious, happy and healthy relationship. Please help her to speak and follow your words; get it in her mind, body and soul. Please let pleasant words flow from her mouth. I thank you and love you. Amen
