He came,
the missionary,
to two places
one with warmth but no fire
one without warmth
but with fire.
God’s missionary went to both.
The warm place first
with fire.
No true warmth,
but the lack of the
comforting heat of understanding,
companionship, family,
and, above all, love.
The lack was a burning soul fire.
No friends around them
No family
No loving souls
to comfort them.
The cold fire burned the soul.
They were there,
many many of them,
in the darkness,
in the silence,
in the void,
each alone,
wrapped within themselves
radiating no light
beckoning no one
totally alone
and burning without flame or fire
And God’s missionary came to them
and to the other.
The place with warmth and no burning fire.
And this place had the warmth of
of companionship, family, loved
ones, and love
They were there,
many many of them, spread
throughout a huge wide area
through many gatherings, and rooms
and many mansions.
And the missionary brought
to both of them
love, forgiveness, hope,
redemption, knowledge, and future.
He gave them freedom through
knowledge of the Savior.
He walked among them
in Heaven and Hell
with fresh nail scars and blood wounds
and compassion and love.
And left on the third day
mission complete.
