WINGED HOPE

Where dwelleth hope?

A gossamer-winged creature
Hope
Lying ever within reach
Yet just beyond grasp
Akin to myriad of miniscule butterflies
Caught in perpetual dance
All about me

The air alive with their mystery
I move from place to place
Captive to their ballet
Yet never able to see them

Delicate wings beat against heated air
Stirring it with their presence
Bodied-burden never alighting
Even for a breath
To let me in
That I might capture
But for the merest whisper of a moment
Their illusive image

Wings
Myriad upon myriad
Flutter in breath-taking swirling motion
Leaving me energized
Heart-lightened

Hope’s mystery

Doeth it lie here …
In promise?

I see Him, but not now;
I behold Him, but not near
…(a)

Seen
Yet awaited
Present
Yet Hope distant

We are children of God
And what we will be has not yet been made known
But we know that when He appears
We shall be like Him
For we shall see Him as He is
… (b)

Herein lieth hope
Not grasped
But ... embraced

Hope …

Borne aloft on gossamer wings
Lives in faithing’s realm

Unsuited to life
In sighted lands
Vision’s sphere would hold hope
Earthbound

Hope soars
From days of old
A-wing
On Truth’s freedom-breeze

Now faith is being sure
Of what we hope for
And certain
Of what we do not see
… (c)

Embracing Hope
I join the eternal ballet
… and am set free

This poem is as light as froth, a perfect example of using poetic language.

This is the best I've read this week. Very nice. You used the word "gossamer" twice so I looked it. "characterized by unusual lightness and delicacy." It fits and so does this poem in all ways.

Nicely done, which is rare in unrhymed poetry and free verse (in my humble opinion); but this was very well written. I enjoyed it immensely.

DeAnna, beautiful and inspirational!

DeAnna,
This is so beautiful and anointed. I am so thankful that He has taken hold of hope for us. We may not fully realize the vision He has for us or the hope may seem illusive, but He has it in His grip where we are held gently.
Blessings and love.
