Anxieties and uncertainties
choices and changes
,major or minor,
shape our transient life
People make decisions
about career, relationship,
location and education.

Yet, some like to boast about tomorrow.
They may say, “Today or tomorrow
we will go to such and such a city.
We will spend a year there,
buying and selling,
and making a profit”
They are full of self-confidence

Can anyone be sure of tomorrow?
We do not know what tomorrow holds
What is life?
Life is fleeting and full of unknowns
It is like vapour that appears
for a little time and then vanishes away

An Illinois couple
married for 69 years
have recently died
within an hour of each other,
Holding his wife 'a hand
as she succumbed to Alzheimer's
he died 40 minutes later

James who met the risen Christ
invites us to trust
Him for our now and future
He advises:
"We should say, if the Lord
willing, we shall live
and do this and do that."

Paul confesses
"If there is anything
that I want to boast
I will boast about my weakness
for my power is made perfect
in weakness so that Christ's power
may rest on me."
For God's grace is sufficient

Brag not about tomorrow
,since we do not know
what the day will unfold
or what life in store
good or evil
we cannot forestall
or prevail

I loved the part about the old couple who died within an hour of each other. I want to go like that, (God willing of course!) If you'd like some red ink critique, just message me.

Congratulations on finishing 4th place in the Intermediate category, Caleb.

Life is short and unpredictable. I heard about that couple and several others who have died within minutes or days of each other. Just recently, a mother and a daughter at church died within a couple days of each other. I heard they were the best of friends.
