On my desktop there is a photo of a bubbling brook in the midst of pretty English countryside. There is a half-hazard yet precisely placed pathway created from moss covered rectangular stones that appear to be sturdy enough for my getaway. You see, I plan to cross them someday. I plan to find myself in the middle of that brook with birds singing their praises and the soft sunshine kissing the very tip of my nose. I can see myself taking a deep down giant breath of refreshing clean air and hopping from rock to boulder- not caring if I fall along the way. After all, if I did splash into the clear cool water, that would only add to the experience of my escape.
What will I do when I get across? I’m not certain. Does it matter? As long as I have the Lord skipping stones beside me, I don’t really care. That is my Escape. When I think of it, which is often- I feel less stuck. In fact, I feel released. Amazing how God works, isn’t it?
