We have the dictionary which tells us what eternity is, but Christ was the only one to truly understand and grasp eternity. We can talk about it until the end of time and never truly grasp the immensity of it. Until we have experienced eternity for ourselves we cannot comprehend how awesome, magnificent and pleasurable it is, but the only ones who will find out the pleasurable part are those that believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
It is written in the Bible in John 14:6 which says, “ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
For those that do not believe and accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will be condemned to spend eternity in Hell with Satan and his demons. That to is found in the Bible as well. One scripture comes to mind and that is found in Revelation 21:8 which reads as follows: “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars---their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.”
We can talk about eternity but we will never truly be able to grasp and understand it until we leave this earth in death or until Christ’s return and all who are still alive will be taken up as well as all those who have fallen asleep in the Lord and meet Him in the sky. Then and only then will be know for certain what eternity is. That is what I look forward to because Christ promised we would spend eternity with Him.
