You hear people say that they can see that day drawing nigh inching closer by the minute. Many are excited and some are attempting to reach out more to others in fear that someone will perish not knowing the Lord, Jesus Christ as Savior.
I believe in my heart, that more than anything we can hear, that day is imminent. Have you ever listened to the sound of a thunderstorm? You can always hear the rumble of the thunder before you see the lightening. You can also hear the beginning of a few light drops before the downpour. I believe just as God reveals Himself in the physical storms, that He will reveal Himself in His actions through His word.
In Jeremiah 44 (KJV), the Lord tries to get the people of Egypt to turn from their ways of wickedness unto Him. He sends Jeremiah to speak to them and they refused to hearken unto the word that was brought to their ear and despite the warning took it a step further and did the exact opposite.
The desire that draws man away from God is the intent of evil to destroy oneself. Since the dawn of time, God has guided us with simple instructions to follow to stay under His covering and in His will. Sadly, since then we have continued to listen to the lies of the enemy.
What is it that you hear today? Are you listening to the ways of man and desiring the sinful nature of the flesh? Are you being misguided by the direction of false prophets? Those who teach that abundance of wealth and a five hundred thousand-dollar fountain at the church are more of a focus than a van ministry that picks up the drug addict and homeless man on Sunday to bring them to church and feed them breakfast?
Are you listening to the televangelist that feeds you the importance of dominion and power, over the importance and freedom of your sacrifice of praise and worship?
The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Sometimes people ask how will we know of the time of the Lord? It’s an ironic question in the sense that we actually have to ask that. Can we not hear the Word of the Lord being revealed? Can we not see His words being painted out before us in the shaking of diverse places? Can we not hear the waters calling out Revelation as a third begins to turn red and the sea creatures begin to perish at the hands of men?
Do we not hear the cries of unborn life calling out from the millions of graves Nations have condoned the murders of? Are the wars and rumors of wars a picture that we have not painted red enough to understand the pain that the heart of God feels each and every time the sound of those fallen hero trumpets play into His ear as another loved one is sent to their resting place?
God’s words are simple, as is His plan. He said even a child can understand. In Habakkuk 2, He instructs him to write the vision and make it plain, for the vision had an appointed time, but in the end it will surely speak and not lie, though it may tarry, wait for it because it shall surely come to pass.
You may be a person whose faith recently did waiver. Or maybe your vision and priorities have gone astray, it’s time to hear the voice of the spirit of God calling for the great awakening of the saints. The hoofs of those horses are preparing for that great morning. Gods vision is unfolding all around us, don’t be caught sleeping in that great hour, you will miss the ride of your life.
