Day after day, year after year, night skies were observed by mankind. What was seen in them could be depended upon. They gave direction, made known the seasons, and continued uninterrupted.
Step back in time, to one night a-twinkle with distant stars and imagine the sight of a new star, the Bethlehem star. Its light so bright and constant it could not help but be noticed. Had it been there all along then brought forth when the time was exactly right? Or, was it a special creation, made at the appointed time? Either way it was no ordinary star. It has been called the guiding star, carrying with it an announcement that is still echoing through the universe and time: The Messiah! A Savior.
This bright star, this steady, quiet star identified precisely who the Messiah was. God laid out His plan and clearly told it to man. There were men with knowledge and wisdom to understand and follow the star to see the King who had been born.
Where did the Bethlehem star go? No matter, its light burns bright in the hearts and minds of all who embrace its message...the reason for the Christmas season!
