When it comes to others’ faults we have a perfect memory.
Why we remember what they did way back in ‘93.(Or was that ‘83?)
Yet, when it comes to our faults, we forget conveniently,
“Why sir, you must be mistaken, that could not have been me.”
But we will swear by all that’s holy, “I’m sure that it was you,”
Oh! but when they mention our faults we get mad and want to sue.
And have you noticed when we gossip how it improves our memory?
Until it comes to our comments, “Oh but let me tell what they said”
Well, of course, I’ve never done this, I’d remember if I had,
But, when it comes to truthfulness, my memory’s a little bad.
Now I just read where the Bible says: “That memory of the just is blessed”
So maybe instead of denying my faults, It’s best if they’re confessed.
And there’s surely not a reason for us to be depressed,
God’s removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.
