Deuteronomy 32:3 I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
Muhammad Ali is arguably the greatest boxer of all time. Like wise, Michael Jordon is the greatest basketball player of all time. Dale Earnhardt, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholson, John Elway and Meryl Streep are all greats in their chosen profession as well.
We tend to associate greatness with deeds and acts. For instance, you may say, “That was the greatest movie I ever saw” or “That was the greatest game I have ever seen.” Have you ever said, “That is is greatest person I have ever met”?
We all have terrific qualities and gifts that God has given us. Some of us can paint, others can write. Some can sing, some can dance. Our talents are God given and need to be used for that. No matter how great we are at these gifts, it does not make us a great person. These are only great qualities. What we do when no one is watching is what really counts.
We can be great at many things but only God is great at all things. He created flowers perfectly. The universe is assembled the way he wants it. His greatest creation though is man, which was born from His brain. The greatest man to ever live was our Lord Jesus Christ. His greatness surpasses all of the sports stars, actors and artists that have ever lived. No one can come close to the perfection that Christ had.
I love to be in the awe of the greatness of my Creator. I bask in the sunshine of his love and understanding. I have to be willing though, to go through some difficult times, but knowing that He has my back makes the fights seem a little less tense and insurmountable. His love will rain down on us when we accept His grace.
When I turn my will and my life over to God, my days are not only bearable, they are wonderful. If I get the assurance and strength I need when I do this, I need to do it every day and often throughout the day. I don't mind doing this because God has the greatest plans in store for me. Seeking His will has become a good habit for me. God is the greatest.
