Atop the mountain pinnacle

In the low of the valley

Astride the highest tree

Beneath the giant rock

In the depths of the ocean

Persistent pounding waves

Sweet silence

The sting of verbs

Kiss brushed lips

Bruising slaps

Beyond the sky

In the enemy’s grasp

At rainbows’ ends

A turned back

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Pleasant thoughts

Unfertile land

Captured fragrance

Within the thunder

Amidst the flood

A single rose

An empty pantry

Abundant life

Barren womb

Joyful noise

Derision and persecution

Honor and glory

Pocket full of nothing

Gifts

Death’s bedside taunt

Blessed vows

Fallen pride

Clutches of terror

Shock and awe

Sins of pasts

Desires unclaimed

Precious firsts

Rendered hearts

Shunned love

Frustrated efforts

Broken promises

A new birth

Forgotten forevers

An evil touch

The tomorrow of today

Laid at the Cross

Calvary’s claim

All held in His arms.

This was really different, and I like the verse, but I think it throws off the flow of the piece. I'd put the verse either at the beginning or the end. But, some great images.

I think this is very beautiful and read each line slowly, letting it settle in... some of these lines are typically "positive" things and some, "negative"? Perhaps the verse could've separated them? Beautiful as is, and quite thought provoking.Thankyou for your work!
