God does not ask for greatness,
In the things we strive to do.
But longs that we should know Him,
And to seek His point of view.
For He is far more interested,
In who we are, through life in Him,
To know we’re willing to repent,
Of all our fears and sin.
His desire is we should know His love,
For He walks beside us every day.
To reveal to us the truth He gives,
When we seek Him as we pray.
For we will grow much deeper
In the love He longs to give,
As we abide with our Lord,
In the way we daily live.
Growing stronger in our faith
While seeking Him in prayer,
Trusting Him in all we do,
Showing others that we care.
Christ was willing to pay the price,
When He died to set us free.
For He rose again victorious,
To grant us the key to victory.
Since Christ was willing to die for us,
To grant for us eternal life.
How much more should we trust Him,
For freedom from sin and strife?
God seeks not our empty promises,
But our willingness to obey,
To follow gladly in His footsteps
In all that we do and say.
