I remember it like it was only yesterday, my first walk in the garden. The flowers were so beautiful with vibrant colors bursting forth. It was in the cool of the evening when the dew fell. A quiet stillness hushed and that’s when I heard His voice. It stopped me in my tracks. It was a voice so strong, yet so gentle. It held so much power, but never insisted upon its own way.
He had tended the garden, watering it and nurturing it for growth. I learned so much in that garden, so much that I realized I’ve only touched the surface. It is in that garden that He took my pain, confusion and fear from me. He replaced these with peace, soundness of mind and love. It is a love like no other. The fellowship is so sweet and satisfying to my soul in our times in the healing garden.
He explained how the Vine grew up in the nutrient-rich soil. It sprang forth with life. The branches began to show green buds of new growth. As the branches developed, they brought forth luscious fruit.
He is the Vine and we are the branches. Anyone who is in Christ Jesus is a new creation. If our hearts are truly tuned to Him, we will bring forth fruit.
I often rush to the garden to spend time with Him. Listening to that still small voice and learning from Him. My journey is here in my life, but my heart belongs with Him. He is my top priority. It has not always been so. I am ever grateful for those quiet, refreshing times in the garden. It is a time to sit at His feet and enjoy His presence. I wouldn’t trade my time in the healing garden for anything.
Isaiah 55:10
"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
Isaiah 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
