Dearly beloved of God,

I wish for you to know in your time of challenge that God loves you so much that He gave you His Son to die for you on the cross. You must know that any doubts or fears we may experience originate not from ourselves but the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy the peace that we have as the beloved sons and daughters of God. Jesus is the first born amongst us who believe in Him and we often forget that in the same way that God loves Jesus He also loves us.

I hope to share some verses from Romans 8 with you so that you may know the surety of your salvation. The Bible tells us that without the Holy Spirit in us, it is impossible for us to call God our Father yet here we are calling Him “Abba, Abba!” The Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives is proof that we have been saved otherwise His Spirit cannot possibly dwell in us. Jesus has washed you white as snow. God has judged all our sins upon Jesus when He took all your sins and my sins at the Cross. This was and is the purpose of Jesus. The verses I am sharing with you tell us that we are called to His purpose and so often we are told what we need to fulfil to serve God because He has a purpose for us. Yet the truth is that if we should remember His grand purpose in our lives is to save us through Jesus, we will be so touched and His love and peace will fill our hearts. Let us never forget 1 John 4:10 because in this verse is the strength to love one another.

Often, it is so difficult to believe that God sees us hidden in the perfect righteousness and holiness of Jesus. Well meaning Christians might teach you to try and be like Jesus but that makes you feel guilty because we all sin. Yet it is so clear in Romans 7:24-25 that our answer is Jesus Christ on the cross. Without the cross we are condemned. Yet there is now no condemnation in Christ because your righteousness is from Jesus and it is an irrevocable gift. We have been justified by faith in the glorious redemptive work of the cross. Jesus did a finished work on the cross to wash our sins away or He would not have cried out “It is finished!” Jesus lost His Son-ship status on the cross and that was the only time God forsook Jesus. God the Father turned His face from His Son when He judged our sins on Jesus. At the cross Jesus cried out ‘Eloi’ instead of ‘Abba’ so that today our Abba can never leave us or forsake us because of the new covenant established by the blood of Christ. Therefore, we who have been justified by faith are presented by Jesus to the Father with exceeding joy. The glory of the cross surrounds us who are now without speck or spot because we are washed white as snow by the Holy Lamb of God.

Whatever you desire to do for the Lord out of a natural outpouring of your love to Him, I hope that you will draw strength from the truth that we are now more than conquerors through Him who loved us. We all know that the greatest demonstration of God’s love to us was at the cross. It is because of the cross that we will never ever be condemned by God. Satan cannot condemn us and the ‘religious Pharisees’ in the church cannot condemn us. The Bible tells us that nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ. Not calamity, not persecution, not famine, not tribulation, not things present or things to come can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ.

Romans 8:28-30 is full of God’s promises to us. The surety that we have is based on the covenant blood which Jesus shed for you and me. I am sure you will fall in love with Jesus once you know just how deeply God loves you in Christ. As you abide in His love for you, you will bear fruit, then more fruit and then much fruit to the glory of God through the Son! Amen.

Your sister in Christ
