I loved it at the start,
Strong feeling of control.
Kept eating less and less.
Declining weight a high -
To thinner be, the goal.

Oh, how deceived I was.
Had viewed this as my friend.
Yet never gave, but took,
And made me wonder, would
Destruction ever end?

My love changed into hate.
This was my enemy.
In time was evident
Sly foe was in control -
Kept asking more from me.

What ever would I do?
Such strength was not within.
Id been resisting God
Which only hurt me more.
Was time to let Him in.

I loved to hear the sound,
His reassuring tone,
Spoke words of strength and hope.
He never left my side
And I felt less alone.

Inhaled His comfort true,
His healing touch divine.
Drew closer than before.
I sensed Him watching me
And felt His hand on mine.

I love this freedom sweet
My Lord has given me.
I smile as I peer
Into the looking glass -
Content with what I see.

Okay with normal weight,
No longer eat with fear.
Express emotions now.
I walk in peace and joy -
Rely on One whos near.

Wow! I LOVE this! I love the rythm and the flow, and all that it says. It's so, so Wow! Talent shines through on this one!

Yes, a beautiful poem filled with gritty, heartfelt truth! Love the image 'inhaled His comfort sweet'. Five live stanzas are really tricky to pull off in writing poetry and you've done it!

Now here's a unique way of dealing with the theme! Excellent job.

Sweet and simple - and heartfelt. Love the focus on comfort - feeling comfortable with self and God! This stanza is my favorite: "I love this freedom sweet
My Lord has given me.
I smile as I peer
Into the looking glass -
Content with what I see." VICTORY!!!! :-)
