Born poor. There are those who believe itís a fate worse than death, but what hope can they possibly have?
A ďlittle here, a little thereĒ say some. But you brought nothing in and, by gosh, you ainít taking nothing out.
I donít know what itís like to put all my trust in things. Maybe itís Godís blessings that have kept me in humble circumstances. All I know is itís all gonna be alright.

When Iím alone; itíll be alright.
When Iím hungry; itíll be alright.
When my family is afflicted; itíll be alright.
And, bless God, when I die; itíll be alright!

Itís not that I fault others for wanting their money and their fancy cars; I just feel bad for them.
I want nothing more than a place at the table beside the one who died for me. Nothing more. There is nothing more.

God help those who believe to be rich in the world is to have everything you need.
God help those who believe to be close to God you must be financially blessed.
The word of God is contrary to either of the suppositions. I want God! Anything else is simply icing on the cake.
Anything less is ludicrous.

I love this! For such a short devotional, your unique voice really shines through--a sign of a talented writer. Your second and third paragraphs are gripping.

God made Man with two ends. One end to "sit on" and one end to "think with". You may be BORN poor...but if you choose Heads over Tails...and use the Thinking End instead of the "Sitting" end - One CAN be a success; however your point is well taken, and is true. It's just that God doesn't expect us to Sit this world out...we should have some drive, some push, some goals to work towards while awaiting our treasures in heaven. Fine job on the topic of fulfillment. Nicely done.
