"Hey, Valerie, welcome back." Megan met Valerie at her car.

"Thank you, Megan." Valerie locked her car and put her keys in her purse as both women walked toward the office.

Megan walked close to Valerie. "Did you hear what happened while you were gone?"
Valerie started to frown. "No."

Megan looked around before she spoke. "Mr. Johnson sold the company and we're moving to Cincinnati."

Valerie's jaw dropped. "You're kidding. Are we going to be able to keep our jobs?"

Megan talked softly. "Well it's either one of two choices, move or look for a new job."

Valerie started to tear up. "Move? I have family here. I also can't be without a job."
At the end of the day, Valerie shuffled to the owner's office. "Mr. Johnson, I have my time sheet."

Mr. Johnson smiled. "Very good Valerie, You've looked sad today. Are you feeling okay?"

Valerie looked down on the floor. "I heard you sold the company and are moving to Cincinnati."

Mr. Johnson's eyes popped out of his head. "Who told you that?"
"Megan."

Mr. Johnson shook his head. "Well, it's not true. I didn't sell the company. Your job is safe."

We can't believe everything we hear; Valerie believed the lie that her company was sold. The enemy likes to put lies into our heads.

Valerie was able to find out the truth. As Christians, our source of truth is the Bible. We may believe lies like we're worthless or are evil. The truth is we are well worth it, so much that Jesus accepted the punishment for us, so we could have eternal life.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can fight against the devilís evil tricks. Ephesians 6:11. (NCV)

Dear Jesus, help us not to believe the lies that Satan puts in our mind. Help us to believe the truth that is in your word of what you say about us. Thank you for dying on the cross so that we can have eternal life with you. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Good example of a situation where a lie is made.

Satan first lied to Eve and he has continued to lie ever since then. His first lie was only half of the truth but half of a truth is the same as none of the truth and this is more dangerous none of the truth.

Today churches can be built on part of the truth. Just look around.

Satan still deceives with part truths. Again just look around.

Continue to search and write for the truth. It is available. It is all of God's word, the Bible.

Amen. Always search out the TRUTH in God's word. He will never let us down as your story so clearly illustrates with the wrap up scripture and prayer.

Nicely said and done.

God bless~

You did do a good job illustrating the topic. One thing that would help make your story flow better is to use some pronouns instead of using the names so much. It gets a little clunky. This was a great reminder to check the source before we take it as fact. Good job!

You came up with a nice devotional. I would urge you to step outside the comfort box and use devotions based on real life experiences. It can be hard to share like that but God can take our bad choices and use them to glorify him. Also Check out Jan's Writing Basics in the forum. If you do that and participate each week, you'll find writing will become easier. This is a nice message and I especially like the prayer.
