Coming over the hill and descending into the valley I call home is a sight that no artist or photographer could capture without a loss of the beauty. There is beauty in all of creation. I was reading a book about fish that live in the depths of the ocean where it is totally dark, yet when they are caught and brought to the surface their colors are exposed – beautiful!

He has made everything beautiful in its time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) A desert can seem so brown and dull, even ugly. Yet when the sun hits it just right that same deserts glows with a magnificent beauty unrivaled. The colors turn from an ugly brown to shades of earth tones and clear, blue skies that defy description – beautiful!

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7; confer with Romans 10:15) Mother Teresa brought hope to the sick and dying – a beautiful life. Billy Graham brought a message of salvation to a sinful nation – a beautiful message. Those who have experienced this salvation would not trade that message for anything in the universe. It is more precious than pearls or even gold coins. How loving are those who bring us this message - beautiful!

Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God, for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. (Psalms 147:1) Praise from the upright is beautiful. (Psalms 33:1) Have you ever been to a great praise service, one where you knew God was there and that He was pleased? No movie epic, musical concert, or sports event can even come close. You don’t want to leave, but to stay and bask in the glow of God’s favor – beautiful!

None is so beautiful as the King of Kings! Glorious, Magnificent, He is Awesome! When I think of His awesome and overwhelming beauty I am draw to the first chapter of the book of Revelation chapter one, verses 13-20. It was such a magnificent picture of the King that caused the Apostle John to fall on his face as if he were dead. Jesus, no longer the suffering Savior or the human Teacher, He is the King of the entire Universe, all of the Kingdom of God. His power, authority, and person are almost beyond description. Our use of words is inadequate, words such as Glorious, Magnificent, Awesome – Beautiful!
