I have learned something strangely new today. There are actual “Sizzle Chicken” breeders struggling to perfect chicken feather types: Silkie, fluffy, or boring, mundane, just plain ordinary.
I am thoroughly confused. To me, a true bacon afficienado, sizzle is the lovely sound of smoked bacon frying to an aromatic perfect crisp. Ah, let us not forget Schmaltz. Schmaltz is the perfect sizzle vehicle. Have you tasted Schmaltz (rendered/melted chicken fat)? Crackling chicken skin sautéed with onions, sizzling most satisfactorily. Yum.
Frizzled Cochin and Silkie Chickens have been producing “Sizzle Chickens" for a few years now.
Thanks to man’s frazzled imagination, grain-pecking egg-laying chirpers have tangled my overworked, over-imaginative brain which has just fizzled.
To have produced such a unique critter, has man stepped beyond his boundaries?
KJV Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
KJV Genesis 7:14 “They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.”
KJV 1 Corinthians 15:39 “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.”
How to handle my passion for Schmaltz? Must I sizzle a “Sizzle” to achieve that tasty sizzling grease? Barbaric.
I am rethinking frying and/or sizzling chicken.
I, without Jesus, would be facing a time when I too would sizzle:
KJV Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
A “Sizzle” is adorable. As chicks they are little balls of mischievous fluff. Breed "Sizzles" and you may never want to eat chicken again.
I am having too much fun with a very serious subject. What occupies our hearts? Are we more concerned with what “man” is doing than with what we ourselves are doing?
Does it truly matter that sheep are cloned and chickens oddly bred?
KJV Colossians 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
What matters more to God? Our indignation over what the world is accomplishing, or our hatred of the very sins we ourselves do?
KJV Hebrews 10:26 “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”
Time is quickly passing. Let us stop quibbling over the non-essentials and concentrate on what God wants from us, His children.
