necessity and a thief of time. As
consumers, we look for ways to
reduce our cost and time. Because
we cannot exist without them, plan
how to shop. Before going to the
store, check the pantry for what is
needed not wanted. An evaluation of
coupons on-line, in newspapers and
magazines reduces cost. Plan menus for
a week or two. Also, make vegetarian
recipes. They cut prices and enhance
health.
Don't drive all over town to shop.
Have a favorite grocery store and learn
the aisles. This lowers cost and time.
Don't get side-tracked by specials at
the end of the aisles. Check the lower
shelves for savings. Be open to try
generic products that have the same
quality and taste. A large family
should buy in bulk. Check the size and
contents of cans and frozen items.
Volume is another way to save.
Save time by going to the store
during off hours such as very early
mornings, early afternoons and late
nights. Not only time will be saved
but stress will be reduced.
Before checking out, get out the
coupons, reward cards, and payment.
This makes the cashier's job easier.
Help the environment with cloth bags
to reduce plastic and paper. As
Christians, be sensitive to those in
line that are struggling to pay. If
possible, pay it forward. Thank God
for the groceries He has supplied.
By following a few simple steps,
time, money and energy are saved.
Grocery shopping can be a blessing in a
cart.
