Many years ago my husband, and I bought into get rich quick schemes. We attended many fancy banquets, and wore fancy clothes while hobnobbing with successful entrepreneurs. All the glitz and glitter of those rallies and lavish feasts kept us coming back for more. Those banquets were exhilarating, and gave us temporary joy, but after all the hoopla it was back to our mundane life style.
The lure of this world can be intoxicating, and Satan’s empty promises seem so obtainable, but at what price? My husband and I was so gullible at that time. Ah! The lure of get rich schemes are still around today, and so many still buy into them hook, line and sinker.
At that time we had head knowledge of God, but not heart knowledge.
My husband is home, and now I remain. Now when I see or hear the word banquet it has a total different meaning. It think about the wedding feast of the Lamb. I cannot imagine the scope of that feast, but when it comes to mind my heart leaps for joy that it makes me want to shout.
The parable in Matthew 22:1-14 explains it so much better than I can. I eagerly await that day, and will continue telling others about the Marriage Feast of the Lamb. What a wonderful day that will be when this sinner, saved by God’s grace, will stand before my Jesus enjoying the feast God has prepared for all His children. My oh my, what a sumptuous feast that will be.
