My taste buds stood at attention,
when a certain food was mentioned.
My eager mouth filled with moisture,
as I anticipated the heavenly morsels.
The aroma was totally awesome.
My appetite pleaded...can I have some?
With the dish my eyes caressed,
I longed to be filled to my fullness.
Alas, my plate I overly filled.
Soon my taste buds were overly thrilled.
Is it sweet or is it bland?
Neither said I, as if to command,
how others should taste the concoction.
I mean, it is by no means bland nor sweet.
What are the other options?
It is rich, it is bold
like a pot of liquid gold,
filling one’s mouth with pleasure.
Like gold to the seeker of treasure.
How do you name such ambrosia?
With what elegant word is it called?
I know not and my vocabulary has stalled.
Leave it not for me to decide.
I’m in love with the taste and the smell.
I cannot get my glutton-ness fill.
I only want my cravings stilled…
Call it what you will.
