On my stage, I make my entrance
on my stage, for all to see
clapping hands and hoots and hollers,
all you glorifying me. wonít you

put me on a pedestal and
stroke my ego, please, send me
fan-mail e-mail complementing
me and only me. I am

worth your admiration, I am
worthy of your praise, all my
talent, poise and posture
picture perfect in all ways. I am

god-like, I am filthy rich and
filthy rich Iíll stay, just donít
ask me any questions Ďbout
the price Iíll have to pay. for my

stature, for my placement in this
gold society, itís a
bloody climb up to the top of
immortality. it may

cost me my integrity, my
family and friends, I donít
care, Iíll pay it gladly, I will
reap its dividends.

life is short so live it quickly, cast
your cares upon the wind, whatís a
little compromising, tell me
whatís a little sin? if it

gets me what I want, makes me
famous and well known, what a
pity being lonely, what a
crime to be alone. I can

grab and get whatís coming, I can
gain a life thatís whole, but please
tell me how to live a life, a life
without my soul.

Wow-powerful and strong depiction of a life without direction, or God. The last line said it all!

Good job. God Bless~

Wow again. Beautifully written to make a great point.
Yvonne Blake 05/20/12
Sigh . . . sadly, that's how most of the world sees life. Well written!

This is a powerful piece. I believe it reflects many people who pursue fame at all costs. The only thing I might suggest is to be consistent throughout -either have punctuation everywhere it is needed. I like the effect of only capitalizing the word I it really brings your message home and makes it stand out even more.

I enjoyed your poem and its message.

Wow, what a powerful poem, what a powerful message. Very well deserving of its placing - congratulations. Love the unusual but incredible flowing rhythm of this.
