STRAIGHT AHEAD
(Written for the graduate)

Youíre going into another school year
And yes, sometimes
Cheers become tears;
But, if you just seek the Lord,
And all His righteousness.
Look up to Him -
And all your needs confess.
Then, hear His voice -
Make His Word your choice;
And donít look back
Look straight ahead,
And youíll go on.
Walk straight ahead
The door is open wide.
Donít waste your time
By looking to the side.
Look straight ahead,
Even if you must put blinders on -
Look straight ahead
And youíll find you can go on.
Donít let your friends say
That you cannot succeed.
Trust in the Lord -
Heíll give you everything you need.
No left, no right
Thereís just His Word to heed
Straight ahead! Straight ahead! Straight ahead!
For the Lord is ready to take you in -
Into His marvelous light.
Thereís a whole new life just ahead of you;
But, youíre the only one -
You have to make it right.
So, straight ahead -
Yourself cannot avail -
Be a success.
Thereís just no way that you can fail.
If you believe and trust,
(These two are a must!)
And donít look back,
Look straight ahead,
Youíll go on.
Straight ahead!, Straight ahead! Straight ahead!

Beautiful job with the topic and encouraging others in their travels through life. The future for graduates is oft times stressful and filled with uncertainty...but with God, ease comfort and confidence boom.

Nicely done. Thank you for this, I am sure many will appreciate your words.

God BLess~

This has so many poignant lines in it. I could so relate as my baby is almost done with her senior year of HS and my son is graduating from college and going to Seminary. My oldest is getting married so I could relate to this. I smiled at the lines straight ahead, as I have told my children the future is wide open before them.

I'm not great with poems, though I do enjoy writing them. These are just some of my thoughts, you had a lot of dashes that halted the flow for me. You may want to double space and break it down to verses so it's not overwhelming to the reader.

It was spot on topic. I do believe this is the first graduation story I've read. I enjoy fresh takes on the topic. You also give some delightful advice here.
