The crowd stood silent,
unsure of the day’s events,
as a flash of lightening
shot across the sky…
the cry from heaven
was heard
in the cracking of thunder.

Tears poured from the sky
on those left standing,
as they scattered…
leaving without knowing,
or understanding,
what exactly had happened.

Rain poured onto three left behind,
all with a story of pain,
yet more was there…
one story hung damned
one told of seized redemption,
while the last…
epitomized sacrifice.

The rain fell,
cleansing those who didn’t know
why he had come…
or understand
why he had left
the way he did…

Then,
God stopped crying
and made way for the Son to shine
the third day
to fulfill what was planned
from the moment He sent His son,
knowing this reign would come.

What a great poem, a nice reminder of Jesus' death and resurrection!
