It was a cold, moonless winter night .The stars shone like diamonds scattered over a dark blue satin canopy. Everything was silent, calm and peaceful. The twinkling stars appeared to be happy and content as in joyful harmony they followed the heavenly course God had appointed for them. Peaceful co-existence was the result of perfect agreement with each other and God.

Storm clouds gathered on a summer sky. In the warmth of the night the cicada insects gathered on the trees and began to play their welcome song to the rain. There must have been thousands of them and yet their music was flawless, not a chord was out of place, not a note sounded jarring. They played in unison and one accord as if God’s unseen hand was conducting their orchestra. They had learnt the secret of peaceful co-existence as they practiced their music in perfect agreement with each other and God.

Golden leaves fluttered down from the trees in the cool autumn breeze. Up in the sky the geese were flying south to warmer climates. They flew in faultless formation following an invisible pathway chartered out for them by the hand of God. As they flew in absolute agreement with each other, their wings did not touch and their bodies did not collide in mid-air. They knew the secret of peaceful co-existence.

As I considered the peaceful rhythm of the world of nature I wondered at the chaos and confusion that is part of the world of man. God gave the same blessings to all His creation, “Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.” But to man He gave the added blessing of Free Will – he could agree or disagree with God’s plan and will for him.

And thus it was that where God had created the holy estate of marriage man went and created divorce courts – where God blessed man with children man decided to open abortion clinics – Where God had created His sanctuary in the midst of His people so they may worship and have fellowship with Him- man created bars and casinos so he could worship the devil. Man has used his gift of free will to create for himself a world totally in disagreement with God’s laws and precepts.

The secret of peaceful co-existence is the wisdom to make a choice between agreement and disagreement with God’s sovereign will for man. The only place man can get this wisdom is from the word of God.
“The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
(Psalm.19.7-9).

It is never too late to seek God’s forgiveness and ask for His guidance in making choices.

Well-written argument showing some of the ways we destroy our harmony with our Creator

Great job with this piece. Topic was spot on, and the message enthralling.

Freewill is a gift, intended to give man the opportunity to worship and honor his God. Man can make freewill a curse by using it to turn away from his creator, creating for himself chaos and not peace! You presented this quite well.

Beautiful imagery in showing agreement with God's plan through nature and the discord we add when free-will is out of harmony with His will for us. Good job!

A wonderful job of pointing out the error of man, and the obedience of the creation that God made. What a shame to mankind. We hate the chaos, but the only way we can change it is to brighten the corner where we are. A sad account of humanity. Great job of expressing this.

I enjoyed this colorful and descriptive analogy. I think it was spot on topic and in a fresh creative way. I noticed near the end you used the words agreement and disagreement (there's nothing wrong with that). I've done that too especially if I'm afraid people are going to think it is off topic. I just wanted to reassure you that you didn't need to do that. The comparison of what humans do and what God intended was a brilliant way to showcase this topic.
