The Skies Out West

During the four and a half years of being a truck driver, I have two memories of feeling the presence of the Lord. My teammate and I were under a load going to Texas. We got within sixty miles of where we were to drop the load of merchandise and started having truck trouble. We made it to a truck dealership and they started working on the truck. The load had a certain time to be delivered so we called the company to let them know that we were close but were having trouble with the truck. Time was running out for us.

My dog and I were sitting outside on a picnic table. I looked up at the beautiful sky and saw a cloud that looked like the face of the Lord and he was smiling down at me. When my teammate came out he asked what I was doing and I told him that I was looking at the Lord smiling down at me.

The truck was not going to get repaired so we decided to have it towed the rest of the way to deliver our load. We called the company and told them what we were doing and they said they would only be there until a certain time. It was going to be close.

We got to the place of business and the truck was backed into the dock. One of the workers came and opened the door to the building. The first thing out of his mouth was:

"The Lord must have been smiling down on you because in another few minutes, we would have gone home"…

I looked at my teammate and we were shocked. I even had chills run down my back. There is no way this man could have known what I had just witnessed in the clouds and what I had said. I know the Lord was with us that day.

Another time, I was driving out in New Mexico and there were clouds brewing and the skies opened up with a downpour. I drove on for many miles. Then as the rain started to cease I looked and down the road were not one but two rainbows across the sky. I had never in my life seen two rainbows with one over the other. It was the most awesome site. I woke up my teammate and we stopped and took movie pictures of it.

Those are two times in my life that I felt the Lord's presence. There are other situations that I have been through and looking back, I know he was working things out the way he wanted my life to go. I give him the praise each and every time because I know he is not through working on me. He is so good to me and I pray I will always remember to give him the credit…

I almost fell out of my chair when I read about the two rainbows. I experienced such a sight shortly after my mother's death and later that night survived a tornado that pushed my car off the road, but did turn it over. "Praise God in all
His glory..." Thanks for sharing not only your story but your faith! God bless you!
