The great desire in my heart
When I look for peace of mind,
Is to find my Jesus
Who is gentle and so kind.
With His life He paid for me --
Something I don’t deserve --
He helped me to bridge the gap
So my King I can serve.
This is what I have found
As I go my way:
I can bow and close my eyes
And to my God I say,
“You gave me life that is blessed;
You fill my every need.
You give Your love so freely,
So now Your word I’ll heed.”
For each miracle I receive
I bow my head with joy.
I will stand a humble man
Where once there was a boy.
With great expectations I look to Him
To get me on my way.
He gave Jesus as my friend
Who helps me through each day.
As I go through this life
With its trouble and its strife,
There is no way I can repay
Jesus who saved my life.
