Dreadful Famine Outbreak of the Last Days

A famine is spreading throughout the entire world. Although some countries lack enough nourishing food to keep their people from succumbing to death, the outbreak of which I write is of a more serious nature. The world is dying for a lack of the Word of God. How can that be?

Journey with me to the explosion of education. Because there are so many colleges, attaining knowledge has persuaded humans to reach for the stars and pursue their dreams. Making good money because of a college degree has replaced thankfulness to God for supplying daily needs. He is demoted because people want to control their own lives. The Bible says knowledge will vanish away. Only what we do for Christ is valuable.

The saddest part of this eruption of spiritual famine is that a host of people has grown too smart to need instruction from the Bible. Instead of living out Bible principles, they want the Bible to condone their lifestyles. They take it upon themselves to change God’s Word.

They copyright it, which requires permission to spread it freely. God longs for His message to reach the entire world and commands us to share it with others. Therefore, if a book has man’s copyright, how can it be God’s Book?
*********
We listen to preachers say it's okay to change the Word of God so modern man can understand it. Whatever version you have...is fine. The only version many won't accept is the King James Version. Why? Because it has been around too long and isn't up-to-date? After all, who can understand what "thee, thou, ye, and thine" mean?

God tells us in James 1:5 if we lack wisdom God will give it to us. Instead of accepting His wisdom, we read ‘easier’ versions because we don't want to take time for the Holy Spirit to teach us. We need to understand ‘in a hurry’ because of our pleasure seeking lifestyles. Besides, that King James Version is so antiquated it cannot be easily digested.

Psalm 119:89 says, “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” In II Peter 1:21, He tells us, “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” The same God who had wisdom and power to author the Bible has power to preserve it in any language, without error. The Holy Spirit moves in our hearts and minds teaching us all truth and helping understand what we study.

When men think they have to update the Bible every few years, they misunderstand the power of God. Times change, but God’s word is settled forever. He forbids us to add to or delete from any part of it, with dreadful consequences towards those who do.

The Bible teaches us that in the last days there will be a famine of God’s Word. The devil’s work is to cast doubt or change the truth into a lie. In these last days he is attacking the Bible and God as never before.

Don’t take my word for it. Check out the different versions in print and discover entire verses that have been totally changed or eliminated altogether. Check out words that have been substituted to clarify passages of the KJV and determine which truly is easier to understand.

We are not smarter than our Creator. He wrote the Bible. It is near and dear to His heart. It is settled. Stop changing it and watering it down to fit every lifestyle. Instead, change that lifestyle to be holy and pleasing to Him.

Christians, our responsibility is to obey God. II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Satan cast doubt on God’s Word in the Garden of Eden. Eve was deceived by Satan’s lies. Adam chose to sin, though he knew exactly what God said. Consider what it cost them because they accepted a distorted presentation of God’s Word.

We can help stamp out the outburst of famine for the Word of God by understanding His power and His love for His own ‘forever settled’ Word and claiming it as absolute authority against Satan whose sole aim is to corrupt or destroy God’s Word.

You make many outstanding points that definitely gives the reader much to ponder

Your message and support of the King James Version came though clearly. I like your creativity in comparing a famine to not reading the Word of God. As Shann mentioned, you leave the reader much to ponder.
