“Like a wheel within a wheel so go the years, one after the other. As one century, one decade, one year passes, so go the days and minutes of our lives.

“God knows the end from the beginning, but the end is also the beginning of what is to come, creating a circle. Will the cycle be unbroken?”

“I know, Grandma, but Jackie told big lies about me and the others believed her. Those I thought were my friends are not there for me anymore.”

“I know your pain, my child. I know many of your friends and some are following after the flesh – another god.”

“I don’t like their god.”

“Tell me, if you could choose any god in the world to follow, which would it be? Would it be a faux god -- one that looks pretty and maybe even makes you feel good temporarily, but is powerless to help you?”

“Choose my own God? How do I do that? There is only one God.”

“You are right, but there are those who will choose to worship something or someone other than the One true God. It could be a person, a way of life, drugs, choosing to play to the flesh . . . we can make a god out of anything. Anything we put before Jehovah God -- is our god whether we realize it or not.

“You know that when we follow Him, Jesus has everything and more, of what will make us happy.”

“Yes, Grandma, I know that well. Thinking about it, though, I think I would want my god to be all powerful, more powerful than anything on earth and beyond -- and if he was that powerful, I would sure want him to like me.”

“If you have chosen Jesus, this is the kind of God you have. No other power can do for you what He has done and will do for you if you ask. He loves you unconditionally with all His heart. He is all powerful. He is standing by with a covenant and many promises just waiting for you to take hold of them.

“I have seen and heard many things over the years – things I hope you never have to endure. Do you remember my telling you about how I received Jesus into my heart as a child when a country preacher came to town? Not too long after that time, my mother was killed by a stray bullet when drunk cowboys came to town shooting wildly. It was such a struggle for me to forgive them.

“My mother had taught me the ways of Jesus. It helped me to forgive many horrible things that are now a distant memory. She always said, ‘No matter the problem, we must always forgive. Not forgiving can kill us from the inside out.’

“Tracy, God gives us a certain number of years on this earth and we must choose to do the best we can with them. He loves us and has great plans for us. It is our job to choose to give those years to Him. He has great adventures and the most beautiful peace our soul will ever know, just waiting for us. He is with us in every battle, through every fiery dart Satan has to hurl at us and He wins every one.

“Your other choice is for something temporary that will use you and abandon you. The plan of God is for your years to count and to expand to many others.”

“Oh Grandma, what would I ever do without you? You always make my problems seem so much smaller than I think.”

“My sweet Tracy, I have only a few years left, but what I have, I happily give to you with my love. It will then be your turn to complete the circle of years and to give God’s wisdom to those you love.”

Good advice. We should make each day, week and year count for the Kingdom. I enjoyed reading this very much.

i would he liked to know more about these characters than it was possible to relay using conversation alone.
I would have liked to know the age of the grandchild and some descriptions. I think this would of added to the piece rather than detracting form the main message.
thank you for sharing this
