Is it not so truly amazing,
how our love that day did start.
Not living together only hold hands,
going for long walks in the dark.

Under the brightness of stars that did light our path.
feeling the blessings of the moon’s most succulent smile.
Tender moments together where we barely kissed,
only sharing tender moments that made the time worthwhile.

We spoke each night of what we sought,
that would make our lives so complete.
And we did not want to spoil the relationship,
taking it to places it need not be.

For we sought to please God in the process,
hoping he would always lead our way.
No matter what others thought or said,
to our beautiful June wedding day.

I can remember you said what you were thinking,
when I said we had to first be friends.
What kind of fool did I think you were,
to want that day to ever begin.

But you saw your promise from God fulfilled,
in the days and the weeks to come.
As we grew closer just holding each others hands,
as our spirits came together as one.

And also I found that He answered my prayer,
that on my knees before we met I did pray.
By bringing your love into my life ,
with a permanent place in my heart to stay.

And that was thirty three years ago,
when I did ask you to marry me.
When I knelt down on that sandy beach,
before you on my bending knees.

For I knew that I would only be complete,
if in someway your love would become mine.
For God had shown me so long ago,
that in the future would come the time.

When He would bless me with a love,
that from His own love He did create.
Rewarding my faith I had in Him,
while in my world a wife He would place.

How tender and beautiful. A love sonnet to your wife. Very well written and very loving tribute to your marriage.
