A Clean Slate

At a hotel, motel or Holiday Inn
With relatives or a friend
At a shelter or stadium
Victims of Hurricane Katrina have been

Many displaced
Economic difficulties faced
By the already poor and the black race

Lives turned upside down
Worldly possessions gone; homes destroyed
Many missing and bodies found

God made this happen
It was part of His divine plan
To wash the slate clean
And build up a better New Orleans clan

Behold, the Lord has a strong and mighty agent; As a storm of hail, a tempest of destruction, Like a storm of mighty overflowing waters, He has cast it down to the earth with His hand. ~Isaiah 28:2~

Work on more consistency of rhyme and meter.

Unfortunately Monique, you were under the word count again - even with the Scripture footnote, it only came in at 114 words. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
