In this world of illusion, are you seeing things quite clear?
You think you see what you see whether far or near.
But is it real and genuine, or maybe just a fake?
It depends on how youíre grounded to have a real take.

Jesus told the person who had questioned Him one day.
To sell his stuff and give the poor, then follow in His Way.
But what that person saw as he pondered it awhile,
Was a life of poverty which just might cramp his style.

He didnít see the picture that was right before his eyes.
He couldnít see that tomorrow would bring him brighter skies.
He only saw before him the lack of pleasure be,
So even though heís looking, did he really see?

When a giant came and threatened the Israelites with pain.
They cowered from the illusion that he would have the gain.
Then there was the shepherd boy whose only saw his God.
It only took a single stone to make the giant nod.

He didnít see the picture that was right before his eyes.
He listened to his fellow men who only told him lies.
He could not see the slingshot which would bring him to his death.
So even though heís looking, he took his final breath.

There was a king of Egypt who thought he was the most.
Enslaving all Gods people, he truly loved to boast.
With the plagues upon them, he still was blind and dumb.
He ended up a failure and his heart was mostly numb.

He didnít see the picture that was right before his eyes.
He was an evil ruler who had his alibis.
He would not be submissive to a God he couldn't see.
He ended up defeated and in bondage was not free.

A picture in a picture is what we need to see.
And look beyond the surface to the One who holds the key.
Take a look through Godís eyes for your 20/20 best,
For the picture in a picture is where youíll find your rest.

This poem has a great message in it. It is nicely rhymed and a pleasing meter.

I enjoyed this poem and all the different Bible characters in it, especially Goliath not seeing even though he was looking. Good job!
