I sit back in my easy chair,
And listen to the voice.
That reads the truth beyond compare,
The Bible’s her first choice.
I close my eyes and tune my thoughts,
To visualize what’s read.
Of how His people He has bought,
With blood shed in their stead.
This happens early every morn,
It started long ago.
We’ve built a bond that can’t be torn,
We’re grounded in God’s show.
It started once, upon a morning,
And continues every day.
The Spirit speaks without a warning,
And I will hear Him say.
Take these words and think upon them,
Cloth them deep in prayer.
Consider them your royal gem,
For none can nare compare.
With her Bible closed before her,
We hold hands on our knees.
We praise the Lord for things that occur,
As we feel the worlds squeeze.
We thank Him for our many blessings,
The trials He brought us through.
He makes us more than window dressings,
It’s His will we pursue.
This story ends but has a future.
Of life that is adorning.
Each Bible word our life will nurture,
“Once Upon A Morning.”
