A glimpse of our life
Shared with some ink
Hastily written
Not much time to think.

A brief, upbeat message
A description or two
Not room for much writing
Just a few lines will do.

A thought here and there
No real message shared
A bit of a gesture
To say someone cared.

Some prayers are like postcards
With quick, choppy words
Brief little messages
That we hope will be heard.

A glimpse of our life
Shared with some words
Hastily spoken
Hope they don't sound absurd.

A brief, upbeat message
A request or two
Not time for much praising
Or a heart-felt 'thank you'.

An occasional blessing
No real thoughts expressed
A bit of a gesture
Before getting some rest.

Postcards are fine
But they're not like love letters.
And those quick spurts of prayer -
Doesn't God deserve better?

'Postcard prayers' are fine
In a pinch now and then
But God prefers a prayer
That takes some time to send.

Peggy, this is simply beautiful. I can relate to my own "Postcard Prayers". The message was a reminder of how often we fail to spend "quality" time with God. He is so worthy to be Glorified! You have a great gift...(in more ways than one)

Much Love...Holly

You have an amazing gift of writing powerful poems! The title is well-fitted to your description of quick prayers. Very clever! For me, you are a winner,Sis! Blessings ,Gloria
