If Jesus sent a postcard,
I wonder what it would say.
Perhaps “I’ve moved…”
That is my friend, “I’ve moved obstacles out of your way”.
“It’s something that I do for you,
Because you believe in me.
The blessings I can bestow upon you,
Are beyond what you could imagine they’d ever be”.
Or maybe the postcard would say, “You have an appointment…”
Just like a doctor might send,
After all, we’re talking about the Great Physician,
Who’s an expert at all that he can mend.
He can mend broken hearts and broken bodies,
And even troubled minds too.
There’s nothing in this world,
That my mighty Lord cannot do.
That appointment postcard might be sent to remind me,
To spend more quality time with Him,
In prayer, or in studying His promises
And knowing for sure that he’ll always keep them.
Then again, He might send a “picture postcard”
Showing a heavenly scene.
With streets of gold, and glorious mansions,
Of which one could only dream.
What if His postcard is an invitation?
Saying “Please come join me…”
“Repent and believe in me my child,
And that will be your R.S.V.P.”
That will put your name in the Book of Life,
Meaning when the time is here,
You’ll have eternal life in heaven,
I do hope and pray that I’ll see you there.
