Laura always packed more than enough for any trip. New on the market, she had to have it. Unfortunately, it carried over into her spiritual life.
She had trouble distinguishing between her inner luggage and her addiction to be a baggage junkie. Unwilling to forgive herself, she was plagued with thoughts of guilt, anger, fear and insecurity.
She had been clothed with the robes of rightousness and forgiveness, but still insisted on carrying around all that baggage from her past. It became a struggle within her, weighing her down. She couldn’t experience growth in the Lord with baggage taking up all the extra space.
A voice deep inside her spoke and she recalled a verse she had learned not so long ago. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)
You must pack your inner luggage with the love of Jesus Christ, the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit, and obedience in the word. Don’t let the robes of insecurity rob you of the joy and peace your Savior promised you!
Get rid of that unwanted baggage. It’s yesterdays lifestyle and you’re a new person.
Make sure you are spiritually luggage packed, not baggage overloaded.
