Adulthood abandons childish illusions,
meanderings, moods, and means of self.
Imaginings abduct long pretensions
experienced and abolish tiny treasures
hidden. New dreams abscond those past from deeps
replaced. Adult paths abuse infantile trails of
innocence and accelerate the germination
of the seed. Conscious memories accuse to
achieve new horizons. Personhood acquires
drive to act in bursting deeds of discovery.
“What’s Life about?” cries the young adult.
The soul adapts through struggles seen
and adds dimensions high. Prayers
address spiritual realms adjusting forces felt.
Growth administers decay. The years
advance and experiences advise the way to
sunlit beams ahead. Wisdom aims to allocate the
soul’s inquisitive draw toward the heavenly presence.
The intellect strives to analyze union at the throne
and answers a myriad of explorations. Excitement
anticipates the spectrum to apprehend His Son.
“God!” cries Adam, “where are you?”
Desire burns to approach the grace, divine appropriates,
as Love arbitrates to arrest and bind the soul.
Faith ascertains the assault upon the limitations
in the once-child waning. O flesh, let go!
The Spirit assembles manifestations to assess gifts
empowered, waiting fruit, waiting ministry.
Hope attacks doubt to attain the end of Peace divine.
Grace matured audits the heart to avert sin.
Love is the means! Love is the means to Him!
Once discerned, the difference between the adult
and the child is Love watered, not drawn, sprinkled
upon the face of humanity!
“You shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart, soul, mind, and strength.”
Glory! Man is born to delight in Him!
