Mess

His desk was full of junk
Along with books and stuff.
He couldn't find his spelling
And it made the teacher gruff.

She said, "You need to fix this!"
As she tipped it on the floor,
"And in your own time too
Before going out that door."

So Ricky's desk was empty
And clean as clean can be,
As he stacked the right things in
So he could be set free.

The mess left on the floor
Filled up the rubbish can,
Ready to be burned
By the local rubbish man.

The lesson from this story
Is quite plain to see.
Empty yourself of sin
So you can be set free.

Jesus came to save us
To give us a way out,
To cleanse and redeem us
From the mess that's all about.

The Holy Spirit sifts us
Strains bad parts from the good
And leaves us neat and tidy
Doing things as we should.

So be empty of your old self
With an empty heart
And let the Spirit fill you
To make a brand new start.

I loved your comparison of the desk being emptied and being filled with the right things. Life is like that as well. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Christine. I just wanted to leave a quick note to let you know your entry, Mess, actually did very well in the Empty and Full Challenge. Although you didn't receive an award, you made it into the Highest Rankings for Level 2, placing 8th in that Level. Give yourself a pat on the back! :-)

If you'd like to check the highest rankings for yourself, you can find them here:
http://www.faithwriters.com/Boards/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25956

The highest rankings are posted every Thursday evening on the Message Boards.

Hope to see you at the FaithWriters' Conference in August. Itís going to be an amazing time of inspiration, information and encouragement. (If Iíve already mentioned that to you, forgive me. Weíre just so excited about letting members know about this great gathering.)
