The forest trees, with green black leaves
Blocked the sky from view
And on the ground, their roots of brown
Played with the moss and dew

A feather danced upon a breeze
To float within a breath with ease
“Hello” “Goodbye” “I’m off to fly”
It seemed to say, with it’s reply

Some birds are singing songs of glee
As if they speak to only me
“Welcome to this peaceful; place”
“Where you can take a slower pace”

A big brown bear just winked his eye
As something yellow just buzzed by
Even they seem calm today
Taking time to scratch and play

I walk along a path of green
Within a heartbeat, smile and dream
I know that I am not alone
And thank God for these treasures shown

A peaceful day to meditate
Sweet visions for my heart’s escape
Before, behind the road is clear
My steps may take me far or near

The smell of pinecones in the air
God’s loving presence everywhere
Designed this moment in my mind
A place of quiet, to unwind

Captivating! I enjoy reading your poem. I felt peace as if I'm walking in that quiet place myself.

Quite Beautiful.. Made me remember summers in the Ozark Hills as a child. Wonderfully worded. God bless you. ....JESUSPUPPY

Oh, how absolutely beautiful! This is a poem to keep nearby - it takes the reader to a lovely 'retreat' in the midst of life's challenges. Yes, I want to go there, too! God bless you for sharing this gift of tranquility!

I really enjoyed this. You may want to rethink the opening, it seems a little dark. Maybe: Beautiful trees with large leaves of green, the Shade felt soothing and created a pretty scene. Nice job, keep writing.
