She had been on this long journey for too many years to count and she sometimes wondered if God had forgotten her there. The days were so long and darkness often over took her heart with its words of failure and despair. This day it seemed it would be too much to bare and her body ached to just lay down and give up.
Something inside kept pushing her on, denying her the choice to quit and let the land have its way. Though nothing could be seen here in this barren land, a small part of her still hoped to see change and renewal.
The battle she fought she did not understand and it was not of her choosing. To stand in this place where not even the birds sang was torture to her soul but she had pushed on because she simply could not stop.
She looked to the sky for any sign of help with a small cry on her lips. “How long, LORD? How long must I go this way before my journey is ended?”
A shape slowly forms in the air overhead, a shape unsure and puzzling to her mind. Looking like a V it has something red on its point and it glistens in the bright burning sun. The drop grows larger and larger until it can be held no longer.
It drops at her feet and splashes to cover her and in the covering she begins to hear the sounds of a storm. Dark clouds pour in, lightening resounds across the empty land and a wind begins to blow. As she breaths deeply of the fragrance of this storm she finds herself enveloped within its arms.
A whirling and fierce storm gathers all around her until she becomes part of it and finds herself twisting with the force of the wind. Twirling and swirling round and round, yet she has no fear for she feels love in this storm.
The dry ground shakes as she is reformed with roots that go deep into the hard soil. In the giving of herself, green grass begins to grow as she is overtaken by the whims of the storm. Lifting arms to praise the Giver of this Storm, she finds herself solid and strong and sure. Her lower limbs becoming a great tree trunk, twisted and entwined for a strong foundation, baring battles scars from swords and arrows that have been flung her way.
A soft glow begins in her chest and beats with the rhythm of a heart surrendered to His plan as she begins to softly praise Him with songs of love and joy. Finding more than she thought possible in such an empty land, she realizes now that He was with her all along.
Bearing the scars of a long and fierce battle, her trunk becomes a thing of beauty and a witness of His love. Her eyes close with a peaceful sigh and she lifts hands to offer Him thanksgiving for her life. Her face and heart both now radiate warmth and love and she sees that indeed His word is true and no path is too long or too dark to keep away His love. One drop of His precious blood is indeed enough to bring Victory to the driest land.

It will help your readers if you put an extra space between paragraphs. Be careful of common misspellings: I caught to/too and bare/bear. This may be a tad light on the topic of 'light/dark'.
Your writing skills, particularly description, are very good. I look forward to reading more from you here.
