Keen eyes with compassion
A demeanor of cool
Slight smirk of a smile
That somehow brightens the space where he stands
A young man who nearly always says just the right thing
To anyone who wants or needs to hear it
Calculated, but only to get results
His heart his gold, but has been put thru numerous fires
By a father of questionable sanity
The good of such heart jerking is the push to search for peace
The bad is all the painfully flawed decisions enacted to find it
The pursuit of earthly peace turned out to be nonexistent
Emptiness of the soul is heavier than lead
To be filled with light and feel the crushing load lift
Was his constant cry
He sensed the answer was near and somehow surrounding him
A peace that passes all understanding…
The familiar words echoed through his being
Recalling a friend who was easy to be around
Who smiled with calm joy and always kept close to him a burgundy Book
That he said held the open secrets to life now and after
For anyone who sought relief from the darkness of humanity
He found that burgundy Book and inhaled the Words
That brought in fresh fragrant life
Peace
Now in the darkness just before dawn, everyday
He gets down on his knees, bows his head
And gives thanks to a Father who created a sound mind for all who seek it

A strong message of hope to those wo face a tough situation. Loved the last line. Thanks!

Short, brief and to the point. A person's whole life seems to pass before the reader's eyes as they read the words. Creative piece of work. Nicely done.
