This world has much to offer me.
When I look through the pages of a glossy magazine
Staring at something, by-no-means is a reflection of me,
What can I do but sit and weep -
Reflecting on my insecurity…
Oh yes, this world has much to offer me!
Flicking through the channels of my TV,
I avert my eyes from the images I see;
So much is unsuitable for my family.
But when I turn over it follows me
And I can’t escape this travesty…
It is true, this world has so much to offer me!
If I try to escape, by walking down the street,
Scantily-clad women I always seem to meet;
Looking at the billboards, I’d prefer to stare at my feet
Nothing these days seems to be discrete...
Oh yes, without a doubt this world has more than enough to offer me.
Anorexic teens,
Druggies scream,
Alcoholic has-beens,
Violent scenes;
Manly queens,
Sexy women preen,
Celebrity ecstasy,
Paparazzi demean,
This life...
Falling apart at the seams.
NO!
This world has nothing to offer me!
A citizen of heaven
I stand alone in the crowd.
Still, against the flow of the tide;
Not conformed now
To the ways of this world!
On the wings of an Eagle
I soar toward heaven
For this will be
My final destination.
And safe, in the arms of my Lord
I know I will rest assured,
That what was meant for bad
Becomes changed for my good!
So... No,
this world has nothing to offer me…
But,
I have something to offer this world!
