Have you ever permitted fear tell you because you have never been to a place you should not put pen to paper. Well, for the past few weeks I let fear of the unknown stop me from writing an article for Faith Writers. It is sad that I a child of God, creator of the universe, limit myself because of fear. I sometimes feel inadequate or unable to do that which God has led me to do.

The only place I have been outside the United States was Germany. My husband was in the military and he was stationed there. I may not have seen South America but God has. God created all things and He is more then willing to give me His wisdom just for the asking.

I was talking to Jesus and He reminded me that I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. How’s that for a kick in the backside? He reminded me that I have the internet and I can visit just about anywhere my hearts desires all with the click of the mouse. Before the computer, there were encyclopedias with pictures and lengthy explanations of whatever country you were studying with all its different creatures and people.

I did some research and found some very interesting facts about South America. It is the fourth largest continent and has approximately 299 million people with about 6 million plus square miles of land. There are twelve independent countries in South America. Each country has its own culture as well as various creatures indigenous to each area. While in South America, you can visit Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Columbia, Bolivia or any of the other beautiful countries that make up that continent.

Some of the exotic creatures located in South America are giant turtles, anacondas, toucans, vampire bats, tufted humming birds, jaguars just to name a few of the creatures that live there. In South America, you can find just about any climate your heart desires. The Rain Forest as well as the largest salt desert can be found in South America. Those are just a few of the amazing facts that are found on that continent.

When I think of this beautiful world, I praise God and thank Him because He created this wondrous place for our enjoyment. South America is a dream of mine and maybe one day I will get to see that exotic place for myself but for now, I thank God for giving man knowledge to create this computer, which can whisk me away to such beautiful places as South America all at the click of a mouse.

I agree with the ideas expressed here, especially since my travel is also very limited. You did a nice job with a task you found daunting. :)

I think many of us agree with your sentiments as we all perhaps have not been around the world in person. You did though what was required of you and brought out some very interesting facts.

This could become a lovely devotional. Well done, and keep writing!

Very true! I haven't been to any of the places I wrote about, so far! But the Internet is an awesome tool and I'm so very glad the Lord gave us the knowledge to have it.
