TITLE: Shout to the Lord
By Kathy Davidson

Shout to the Lord

I must confess that what I know about Australia can be narrowed down to phrases, celebrities, and the fact that is both a continent and a country.
I know that its native Australians are called Aborigines and my only mental picture is the ones I’ve seen in movies like Crocodile Dundee.
Australia as I understand her early history was discovered by James Cook and the land claimed by the British Empire. It was colonized by free settlers and prisoners of the crown.
In recent years the Australian country and culture has been brought to America with the success of Mel Gibson, Crocodile Dundee and the crocodile hunter, Scott Irwin. The country music scene has Keith Urban and his wife who is also a former Aussie, Nicole Kidman.
In fact, I understand a new movie will be out soon with Nicole Kidman and another Australian, Hugh Jackman about Australia.
I looked up some facts about Australia, out of lack of knowledge and curiosity and in my“googling”; I discovered that 70% of the country proclaims Christianity. I also understand that Australia is one of the most liberal nations in the world, having some of the most liberal laws concerning, obscenity, pornography, and prostitution.
And then there is Darlene Zschech and Hillsong Church. And a library of praise and worship songs written by Darlene Zschech that are anointed and touch the heart and soul of congregations across the planet.
Shout to the Lord, a worship song that is one of the greatest praise and worship songs ever written.
My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love.
My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength;
Let ev'ry breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and Majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
So thank you to those like Darlene and the Christians in Australia who persevere in spite of the liberalism of their government and much of the population and have taken their stand and brought to the world this anointed music. May God bless Australia and may His Spirit continue to work through such His anointed in the land down under. Continue Australia to shout to the Lord Australia, you are touching the world for Him.

Shout to the Lord is one of my favorites also. It is amazing how such a far off country has given so much to the kingdom of God.

I especially liked the last half of this, and would like to have seen it expanded--perhaps a story of how "Shout to the Lord" made an impact on one person's life.

Some interesting information about Australia.

I enjoyed learning more about Australia from the first half of your piece, and I concur about the song "Shout to the Lord" in the second half!

I would suggest that you watch your punctuation a bit and also space between paragraphs for easier reading.

Blessings on your writing! :)

Good commentary regarding the continent of Australia. From a critical standpoint add spacing between paragraphs to enhance readership of your piece. The goal is to become a better writer and that would include not only content but presentation also.

Thanks for the extra info. on Australia; We sang this song by Darlene in our Church service this morning! My only comment would be to try and break up the article with paragraphs as it looks better on the page as manageable pieces.
