The Angels Watch
The great book lays open, and many angels are looking upon the writing there.
One angel speaks, "this... woman will ...carry?"
"Yes, she will carry Him and give My gift to them," the Great One spoke.
"But she is so small and weak..." another angel replied.
"Do you not see that we have chosen the place, the moment in time, the hiding place for her?"
Another angel spoke, "but Lord, the stable - is so rough and dark and ... dirty."
The Great One motions with His hand across the pages. He looks at His angels, smiling and now sends them,
"Go, to this chosen one, Mary, with My gift. And you - Go, prepare His place... and see those Shepherds?
When you are finished with all your preparations, tell them to go, and see. They are also chosen."
Immediately, the angels leave His presence and disappear.
The pages of the book begin to turn backward. Somehow the pages have changed, but this is a great mystery. A great number of the voices begin to shout praise and the noise is deafening and yet, it grows louder and
louder, and then a tiny baby cries...
"And Mary said, 'My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now
on all generations will call me blessed for the Mighty One has done great things for me - Holy is His name.." (Luke 1: 46-48, NIV)
To share the growth and physical changes of life is the miracle called pregnancy. To share another's
burdens, dreams and cares inside from the very first moment - is to glimpse the love of our God. He came that He might know us, intimately. His Spirit was surrounded with a soul to share our sorrows and passions. He was wrapped with flesh to know our
weakness and trials.
How awesome for Mary to experience - a glimpse of God within, and how prophetic that God came within - as a
tiny baby - just as the deposit of His Holy Spirit is given to us. In one moment, her life was completely
changed The moment He came in.
