Ok, I know some of you are going to think I have "snapped" but nothing is further from the truth.
What I am about to say, most of us have thought at some point in our lives.
Since I was 12 I have worked. I started out mowing lawns, raking leaves and picking up trash after school to help take some of the burden off Mama, all us kids did.
As I grew older I finally realized something, that no matter whether it was in the individual private sector or corporate sector, your usefulness to a company is only relative to your production TODAY.
You may have been their top employee for decades, but when production fades, even if it is due to a slow economy, you become "tarnished" in their eyes, and they begin to look to "new blood." They hire a newbie to see if they can fill your shoes, or they flood the company with so many new hires that production is bound to decrease for all. Then they look at the top people from that category and let the rest go. This is called, "The law of the Jungle" business ideology where only the strong survive. Previous production and years of loyalty goes out the window in favor of profit. Maybe you have experienced what I mean.
There is a saying in the corporate world....."There are no FRIENDS in business, just network associates."
I find this to be true. I have worked for many companies and have found also that when you begin to make too much money for yourself, (bare in mind your making tons for them) that for some weird reason executive management implodes and seeks to either limit your income or do away with you all together.
I never have quite figured that one out yet! I guess the thinking is that YOU make it look so easy that they believe they can hire any moron to do what you do. You get frustrated and leave and they discover that YOU had special talents that God gave you to do what you do better than the others and want you back. However by that time you are disenchanted,have moved on,and for you the door is closed now.
I have counseled with many others that either have gone through this exact same experience or are going through it now like I am.
All I can say is, THANK GOD HE NEVER LOOKS AT US AS USED MERCHANDISE. WE ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO CUT THE MUSTARD, OR BECOME UN-USEFUL, TO HIM.
NO, HE ALWAYS THINKS AND SEES THE VALUE OF THE HUMAN SOUL AND LOOKS AT OUR POTENTIAL NOT OUR CURRENT STATE. HE SEES BEAUTY IN THE MAKING AND VALUES OUR GOD GIVEN TALENTS AS A FUTURE BONANZA FOR HIS KINGDOM! CAN I GET AN AMEN?
This is the difference between how mankind values us and Almighty God'S frame of mind.
So if you feel de-valued by your employer, boss, supervisor, constituents, etc, know this, that God has something special in mind for just YOU. Why? because He made you special, for a special purpose.
Never forget that His special destiny for your life has yet to be totally fulfilled as long as you still have breath.
