Truth or Dare is a game played by a group of people at parties and can be fun. On the other hand, it can lead to embarrassment and pain. It depends on the people playing the game. As my attitude changed and I grew closer to God my outlook of Truth or Dare changed. I tend to look at it so differently now.

God represents truth and Satan dares or mocks God. Satan tries everything he can to destroy us. It is as if Satan dares us and does all he can to lead us astray. It reminds me of the story of Adam and Eve in the garden. God told Adam that if he ate of the trees in the middle of the garden he would die. Adam believed God but Eve being naïve listened to Satan. It was as if he dared her to test God. Because of her naiveté, she partook of the forbidden fruit and they, Adam and Eve, were banished from the Garden of Eden. Their soul was stained with disobedience and they alienated themselves from God. God told them the truth but they did not believe. The old devil entices us with all kinds of wants and desires just to see if we are willing to risk our salvation. He is cunning and sly and promises us everything to make us happy but at what expense.

There are so many stories in the Bible about Satan and how he expertly twists Gods Holy Word to fit just about any situation there is in life. Satan knows the Holy Bible better then we do and if he can pervert the Bible, he does. I love how Jesus thwarted Satan when he tested Jesus. Three times Satan challenged Jesus and my Savior triumphed. I love where in Matthew 4:5-7 the devil took Jesus to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

We as children of God can choose to listen to Him or we can listen to the wily old devil. As for myself, I choose Christ. My faith is based on Gods Holy Bible and I can take His word to the bank. II Timothy says it beautifully. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Truth or Dare. The choice is yours but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
