Under A Bushel

Under a bushel
We hide it not
Beneath a pillow
Another wrong spot
In this world
We’re called to be
Salt and light
For all to see.

Living within our trusting heart
Is Christ- the greatest part
Shining forth His true Light
Blessing the day…
Calming the night.

The depth of darkness
Cannot put out
The shining Hope
That makes us shout-
Dance and sing…
In thankfulness
For everything.

No secret place
Can ever conceal
The truth and love
Meant to reveal
Spiritual promises
Spoken and kept
For those who believe
And humbly accept
The unfailing Light
That entered this world.

We seek daily that we may find
And ponder with our soul and mind
The gentle voice of loving care
Who knows our every earnest prayer.

Our Lord and Saviour lit the way
Turning darkness into day
Bestowing to us in perfect measure
~Faith~
Our most valuable
And sacred treasure.

This is so wonderfully written. It certainly is wonderfully true. Good job on connecting on this topic.

"We seek daily that we may find And ponder with our soul and mind The gentle voice of loving care
Who knows our every earnest prayer."

I love that!

Well done! A nice poem that reminds us that we have the duty of letting our Christian light shine before the world.

This has nice rythm and flow, and great truth.
