Topic: The Family Home (05/29/08)

TITLE: Blueprints For Your Future
By linda perry

With your first glance to the title of this story, you probably think that I am writing about a room, a building, two buildings in different states or countries or even, perhaps even a body of people, but this story will prove that within the confines of my mind, dance very different ideas, so different than the average person thinks.

For me, the family home is not built with bricks, mortar, stucco, steel or even concrete, and it is not one building, two buildings or even a team of buildings. From what I have learned throughout my life is that most family homes exist within the person, within the human and definitely within the minds of all human beings. Everyone has a home and everyone has a family home—even those individuals who are homeless by the world’s standards. Everyone has, or at one time had, existed in and or lived within the family home.

The family home is inside of your own mind and that truly explains why no one is homeless.
As long as you have a mind, you have a family home. That is correct. You are experiencing true statement of facts here. As long as you have a mind, you have a family home. Prove it? Yes, proving that statement of fact is easy for me and once explained, the understanding of it will be easy for you also.
Construction workers, architects and other builders are not responsible for building families any more than they are responsible for building true family homes. So, put that concrete, steel and brick idea out of your mind as you take this journey with me into the reality of human bonding, clarity, joy, love and memories.

The only concrete inside the genuine family home is that concrete that is melded by love, loyalty and true family, a solid, true Christian faith, and family emotional connections. Concrete, made of human blood, sweat, tears, emotions, feelings, memories, words, thoughts and deeds, is stronger, longer lasting and more permanent than the most powerful edifice in the world. It is stronger than any of the Seven Wonders of the World and it is stronger than any of the World Wrestling Champ’s bodies or reputations. It is simply stronger than strong and backed by the powerful word of God through the genuine King James Version of our Holy Bible. There is none stronger.

That is where the true family home comes from. And that explains why families with a strong faith stay connected and are families no matter where their geographic location is. That explains why some families seem more glued together than others, and that explains why some families fall apart while others risk life and limb for each other’s safety, sanity and well-being.
Staying connected through faith is a way to live life when one wants to stay connected forever. It is only the glue of faith that builds all the family homes that exist on this planet earth. You have seen others fall apart.

It does not matter how much money a family has—that family can still fall to pieces in less than ten minutes. It does not matter how famous a family is, that family too, can fall to its’ destruction in the blink of an eye. But true family homes, the ones that exist in the minds of faithful Christians, true family homes withstand the test of time, withstand all the natural disasters and withstand anything and everything else that is meant to destroy human beings and families alike.

So, where do you go when you want to build a real family home? Go towards spirituality. Go towards the Bible. Go towards the Ten Commandments. Go towards faith. Go towards true, genuine loyalty to the one and only God. Then and only then will you have you reached the only true road to your own family home.

You have some very interesting thoughts here. This felt like it could be used as a devotional piece. It gets people thinking.

In my opinion, you really didn't need the first paragraph. I think you could have started off with the second paragraph, and the story would have flowed just as nicely.

Thank you for sharing this unique entry.
